Response to Ofcom’s Request for Research on Fraudulent Advertising and Account Integrity
The Integrity Institute responded to a research request to inform Ofcom’s Fraudulent Advertising Codes of Practice (Codes) draft.
Our research directly informed the proposed Codes: nearly 40 safety measures legally requiring online platforms to tackle scam advertising, including bans on repeat bad actors, stronger checks on advertisers, safeguards against account hijacking, and measures to curb the misuse of AI advertising tools.
We would like to acknowledge the contributors from our membership: Jeff Allen, Spencer Gurley, Sofia Bonilla, Ariel C., Alexis H., Henriette Cramer, Leah Ferentinos, Rob Leathern, Tara Sakhuja, and Nicholas Shen.
